2024 Season Review

As we wrap up the 2024 season, it’s a pleasure to reflect on an incredible year for the society, highlighted by remarkable individual performances, close competition, and a historic achievement in matchplay. Over the course of nine exciting fixtures, our members showcased exceptional skill, dedication, and camaraderie that have truly defined this season.

Season Fixture Highlights

The season kicked off with the first fixture at Forest Pines, where Harvey Benson set the tone with an impressive victory. From there, Neil Houghton took the top spot at Radcliffe on Trent, showing consistency and poise. The Members Cup, held at Lincoln, saw Michael Billson clinch his first win of the season, and he would go on to repeat this feat on Captains Day at Waltham Windmill.

Martyn Lynes delivered a stellar performance at Wheatley, and Jon Sankey emerged victorious at Grimsby. At Glen Gorse, Steve Leachman took home the honors, while Alan Maddison triumphed at the Lincoln (John Armstrong) event. The season closed on a high note with Brian Giles winning the prestigious Whisky Stagger at Lincoln.

Matchplay Triumph

In a historic moment for the society, we achieved an undefeated matchplay season for the first time in our 33-year history. The teams were victorious both home and away against Matlock and against Carholme Seniors. Let's see if we can repeat the feat next year!

Chairmans Chalice

The chairmans chalice is a competition that runs throughout the year and is the highest 3 scores for each memeber added up. Neil Houghton became the first member to win this trophy 4 times this year and the full results are below:
