Secretary's Trophy

Saxilby Golf Society made there first ever visit to Rutland Waters Golf Club for the Secretary’s Trophy.
The Society welcomed Simon Croft of Croft Carpets who kindly sponsored the day.
It was unfortunate that the greens had been treated. With the rain the previous two days meant they weren’t in pristine condition.
The views over Rutland Water were certainly more spectacular than some of the golf on show.
They say beware of the injured golfers and today was certainly the case. Andy Ecelson returning after a couple of years away from the fairways scored a superb 42 points to claim victory from Chairman Graham Flint who scored 39 points. Obviously the surgeon had done a master stroke on his new hip if not speeding up his game.
Gary Benson continue his recent form to claim 3rd place with 35 points.
The Captains team prize went to the trio of Steve Leachman , Brian Giles and Ecelson with 88 points.
Nearest the pins were achieved by Jake Benson, Simon Croft, Gary Benson, Andy Ecelson and Captain Clive Dixon. With the tricky greens nobody got a two ball.
So another good Society Day and once again thanks to Simon for sponsoring the day.
